Holistic Feathers is dedicated to all things natural, arising from years of research and experience of dealing with family health issues which seemed to arise from modern-day stresses and pollution.

Callie Carling is an ITEC-qualified holistic therapist specialising in natural beauty treatments and energy healing and an active member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).  She seeks to find natural alternatives to everyday products, appreciating that the smallest steps can still make a big difference.

Callie is delighted to share her  own experiences in order to help others to tap into their own innate healing ability, discover more about themselves and the way their body works.

Training

Callie re-trained as a therapist in 2005 after experiencing the benefits of massage during a holiday in Egypt; with a bountiful frame and low self-esteem, she was indignant to be told her weight made her an unsuitable candidate to train in holistic massage.  Commonsense prevailed and inspired by the healing world of touch (massage), she trained in further specialist treatments and techniques to help people with a whole range of health conditions.

With almost 20 years of researching and trying out alternative ways to maintain her family’s health, Callie is passionate about empowering people just like you to find inexpensive, trustworthy and simple ways to improve your health and, ultimately, your life.

‘To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.’ ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Charities

We support the following charities:

~ Afghan Heroes

Why did we choose this charity? Quite simply, because its personal …

I am not a political activist. I am just a mother … who feels the heartbreak of her son (a young serving soldier) as he tries to come to terms with the recent deaths of two young friends in Afghanistan.

My heart breaks for the family and loved ones left behind, for those caught up in the action (as a dear family friend is too, at the time of writing). My son trained with one of the young lads who died during a terrible 2 days of action in July; the mothers of those who died during those two days have banded together to build a true ‘Mothers Legacy’, setting up Afghan Heroes to help the troops and their loved ones.

I applaud the bravery, courage and determination of the mums behind Afghan Heroes … so please give generously and let others know of the good these brave mums are trying to do.

Afghan Heroes: Our Mission
… Is to support all our service personnel operating in theatre in Afghanistan, by providing the much needed “home comfort” supplies and gifts to the 9,000 service personnel, to promote and embrace the new initiative “Thank-a-Soldier” and to ensure our soldiers know they are not alone. On the home front we will set up support groups for the families of the fallen. We will also set up regional network groups and events so families can come together and support each other.

How you can help
By donating to Afghan Heroes through Bmycharity you can be assured that all donations will have a direct and positive impact upon our service personnel serving in Afghanistan. There are other ways of helping by donating time, packing gift boxes, organising events or just helping on the day of any events in your area

Hearts and Hands for Africa

One of my trainers, a very gifted healer called Anne Jones, has set up this charity and donates all profits from her healing work and retreats throughout Europe and the Far East to support the work of Dr Cary Yasof. The charity has been set up to assist widowed grandmothers caring for their orphaned grandchildren, other vulnerable children and a community wishing to work, helping these people empower their lives in a practical way.

We simply support this local hospice because of the unending support it offers for those stricken with cancer – and their families.
