Quieting the gremlin mind
Author: Callie
There are times when life seems really wonderful – when we are focused on all the good things that surround us.
“Unfortunately, when times are tough most people spend more time looking at what’s wrong and in the process attract more of what they don’t want. To make it worse, within each of us lives a loud gremlin – a negative little voice in our mind that wants to keep us small, scared and under tight control.
This little voice thrives on scarcity-based thinking, creating feelings of neediness, and keeps our thoughts full of lack and fear.
During times like these, when we tend to focus on the problems going on around us, the gremlin voice is running on overdrive – filling our thoughts with every horrible outcome it can think of. Now if you constantly focus on at what is wrong – that way of thinking becomes a habit, and it gets tougher to change.
The good news is you can take control the gremlin mind, change your way of thinking and begin creating a wonderful life – and it’s really fairly simple.
To shift the little voice from the gremlin scarcity thinking to empowering prosperity thinking, you have to reframe your self talk to the positive. Here are a couple of reframes you can use:
Change – ‘I dont want’ to ‘I want’ or ‘I intend’
Change – ‘I can’t afford’ to ‘I choose’ or ‘I’ve decided’
Change – ‘What if I can’t’ to ‘I if I can’
Universal Law states that like attracts like. Prosperity thinking attracts more of what we want. Self-deprecating language and scarcity thoughts set up negatively charged energy that attracts what we don’t want. Not to mention, the more positive thought and words we use, the more we are able to see solutions and answers to problems and issues.
When our mind is negative, our focus is extremely narrow and we do not see the bigger picture – which always includes the answers.
You can turn your life around and reap the rewards of positive thinking. It is possible to kick the negative thoughts out of your life and attract what you want.
You can do it.
Begin today to put an end to negative thinking.
Start believing in yourself.
You can live the life you want and you too can have a wonderful life.”

For many people the day before the weekend is a Dress Down day in business, a day when we can almost relax a little at the end of a working week.
And a day when wearing Red can be done really easily, with few worries about fitting in, something Red will stand out in the crowd, well until the day when everyone is wearing Red to show their support.

Wanted! Therapists and healers …
Author: Callie
Hello
I would be delighted if any complementary therapists and healers out there would kindly take a few moments out of their busy day to complete my survey …
The survey itself deals with professionalism within the complementary and alternative medicine field, and should only take you between 3 – 5 minutes to complete.
Although this is primarily set up for the UK complementary and alternative medicine field, I am also very interested in respondents from overseas! There is no time limit but I’d like to receive as many responses as possible by end of September 2009.
With very many thanks in advance,
Bright blessings

Naturally lovely gifts
Author: Callie
July and August always sees a flurry of activity on the bookings for Facial Rejuvenation (Natural Face Lift Massage) treatments, as our clientele – male and female, it has to be said! – rush to receive last-minute natural uplifts to look their best during the wedding season.
This year we were asked to recommend gift ideas for readers and friends who had helped enormously with the preparation work. Our bride was after unusual gift ideas, products which were inexpensive yet which the lucky recipients would enjoy using – and of course, the products had to be completely natural. Our bride was somewhat biased in that she goes crazy for our Raw Gaia raw chocolate face mask and bath melts ALL the time!
In the end, she plumped for three different types of gift sets to take into account the ages and personal preferences for each lucky reader and helper.

Eye Mask
One of the gift sets was to include a Ripple Joy candle (filled with the uplifting aromas of bergamot, sandalwood and lemon), a Goddess Sleeping lilac & plum silk embroidered eye-mask (perfect for the long flight home after the wedding) and a personalised hand-blended body oil blend (110ml) from the Ripple range of energy essences.
Two gift sets were selected purely on the luscious aroma of the Raw Gaia raw chocolate product range: a Raw Gaia chocolate orange bath-melt and a Raw Gaia raw chocolate face mask jar (designed to last for at least 12 facials), plus personalised hand-blended body oil blends (110ml) from the Ripple range of energy essences.
Last but not least, a third gift set was selected to take into account the lucky lady’s love of pampering: a gift voucher, Raw Gaia chocolate orange bath-melt, Raw Gaia raw chocolate face mask jar and a personalised hand-blended body oil blend (110ml) filled with a specially-chosen Ripple energy essence.

Gifts from the Bride
The bride left it to us to co-ordinate the wrapping of each gift to complement her wedding colour scheme, although she had already chosen 4 stunning black die-cut gift-bags. We agreed that simplicity was the key, using silver tissue paper tied with teal satin ribbon to echo the colour scheme of the wedding party.
As guests at the wedding, it was wonderful to see the recipients so thrilled with their hand-chosen gifts … something we rarely get to see!
So if you are feeling a little short of ideas for any particular occasion, don’t be shy – get in touch with us and see what we can do to help.

Feeling low in energy this week?
Author: Callie
Believe me, you are not alone … I was thinking this morning at how unusually weary I feel at the moment and so took time out to catch up on some online reading. Surprise, surprise, a lady called Karen Bishop has hit the nail right on the head again! I thought I would share this excerpt with you because an awful lot of my clients, family and friends are also struggling with similarly low energy levels right now, despite the glorious weather we have been blessed with in the UK in recent days.
Enjoy!
* * * *
Fine tuning means letting go of all or any energies or purposes within us that we embodied in the past, and that we will no longer need in a new reality. It is a sort of purification process, as we are now becoming our true and authentic selves at yet another level, and this involves getting to that pure gold nugget of who we really are as individuals. We are not really purifying now, but more fine tuning…extracting our higher level purpose that is no longer related to raising the consciousness of the planet. That time is over.
Some symptoms of adjusting to the new reality, or rather aligning with it and our true selves? Exhaustion and apathy. We are really being re-wired now, and are being encouraged to relax and do the bare minimum, as exerting ourselves will tax too much of our energy reserves. No extending during this time. We need all our energy during this process, for this process. This is why we may also have great hunger during this time. We need the extra fuel. We absolutely are unable to give at this time as well, but are very open to receiving. This is because we need energy coming in to sustain us while we are so very taxed. Pampering ourselves, buying things for ourselves, being selfish, and tending to self care are what may feel good now, and are what is currently needed. But again, we are soon to be out of this stage, as is it shorter the more we have evolved, as there is less density within us to fine-tune.
Insomnia can be present as well while we are tuning up as so much is going on within us, and can also occur because we may feel that things are still very unresolved in so many ways. When I am moving into new energetic territory, I often feel a lot of energy pouring in through my crown chakra, and I have been feeling this recently as well. A general fatigue may continue along with a strong feeling of being lost and confused. We may not know where we are right now, as we have not completely aligned within and without, but we are most assuredly continuing with the process.
Things may not be manifesting well, or coming together at all for many, and we may feel a lack of support. This is because we are not finished being fine tuned and purified to our higher purpose, and we cannot begin to manifest until we are certain what our new roles will be all about, down to the last detail. If we started things new right now, we might have to adjust them further, and this would cause confusion and delays. We need to have a specific mission statement, so to speak…not a general one. We are now in the new reality, and it involves knowing our own specific purpose and contribution. Most all of us have healing ability and intuitive ability. These are givens with advanced souls. Just natural states of being to be used if and when needed. These abilities are no longer needed as a means of service, for instance, as what we will be offering now will involve our gifts and talents, and contributions to a society or whole. What we are needing now, is what our passions have always been about, and what we indeed know the most about, and what comes most easily for us. It is our natural state of who we are.
At the end of September and especially into October, we will be fairly complete. Things will feel magical, as if angel dust has been sprinkled everywhere, there will be a strong sense of grace ever present, and we will feel much gratitude. The energies will be light…not intense, and very freeing and easy. This is how things look at present for the future, but we have found very intensely of late, that there is always free will, and things can radically change, so please don’t hold me to this timeline or outcome!
Until this process is complete, we will experience enough influx financially, that our needs will be met and we will be taken care of. Almost with a mind of its own, money will arrive somehow. Because our old roles are now over, if we attempt to continue on with them (and at times we may need to), we can feel as though we have short-circuited, become discombobulated, very bored with them, and most times, we can feel almost like we are prostituting ourselves. There may be a small influx with our old work for awhile, as this may provide the needed financial income until we are completely ready for the new to manifest, but it is only temporary.

Hard-up women abandon skin creams for ‘good value’ Botox
Author: Callie
So said the news headline on page 3 of the London Lite yesterday evening (19th August 2009). Intrigued by the headline, yet shivering at the idea of using Botox (a personal fear!), I couldn’t wait to read more …
“Women are ditching their favourite but expensive skincare products for longer-lasting cosmetics treatment. Sales of products such as La Prairie, Lancome and Estee Lauder have declined in the past few months as consumers turn to Botox injections and laser hair removal to save money long-term. Analysts Mintel said consumers were also turning to Botox not to waste time each day applying make-up … ‘We know that older women tend to be more cynical of claims made by beauty products. With Botox, they know it’s going to work so they go for the guaranteed results’.” (c) LondonLite
So what exactly is Botox? Botulinum Toxin (hence the term “Botox”) is also known as Wrinkle Relaxing Injections, which is a toxic protein used in tiny doses to stop muscle spasm. Botox is injected into specific muscles to relax them temporarily, leading to an inability to wrinkle the skin overlying the treated muscle – which is why some people say that Botox leads them to develop a “frozen” look, as the toxic protein latches on to the muscle only. For more about Botox, please visit Wikipedia.
Just the very idea of having something unnatural being injected into my skin gives me the heebeejeebees, reminiscent of school vaccination jabs where you would leave the sick bay howling in pain (or was that only me?!).
I had a quick scout around and discovered that in London, the best value for Botox is around £250 for a treatment which tackles three specific muscles (areas).
So for £250 you could get your forehead ‘worry’ lines treated alongside your laughter lines (naso-labial area) and crows feet (peri-orbital area). The Botox treatments are predicted to give results for a 3 – 4 month period, so you are looking at booking in for a minimum of 4 treatments per year at a cost of £1,000 – £1,250.
Does this offer good long-term value?
From my perspective, not really. Much as I look in the mirror at times and despair, I know that my animated face is really ME – you can see when I am happy, when I am sad. My facial lines show who I really am, they all have stories to tell … would people react to me differently, would they feel I was still a warm, friendly person if my eyebrows didn’t react with such abandon or if my smile didn’t reach my crow’s feet and turn them upwards too?
Despite my own personal concerns over the safely of using a toxic protein as a beauty treatment, I would always advocate natural over chemical because I believe that as we age (dis)gracefully – if we are lucky!- our faces reflect our inner beauty with true grace.
Facial rejuvenation (natural face lift massage) offers a natural alternative to Botox, without limiting you to being treated in specific muscle areas. Your whole face will receive minute, precise movements which help to relax, stimulate and re-educate your muscles to give a definite “lift” and a beautiful, radiant glow to your skin. Another plus point to this treatment is that you have an hour of bliss, time to yourself, time to relax and as we stimulate your energy points (meridien or marma points) you will feel deeply relaxed yet rejuvenated within your body too. Delighted clients verify time and time again just how amazing this treatment is, the beauty of it being that it is au naturelle and injection/electrical/product-free!
So, thinking about these hard-up women who are desperately trying to find ways to reduce their expenditure on fussy, exorbitantly-priced skincare and procedures …
Each Facial Rejuvenation treatment with Holistic Feathers is £40 for an hour-long treatment. The recommendation is for an initial set of 6 treatments over a 6-week period to re-train your muscles, and if you pay for the set of 6 treatments at the start, we gift you the 6th treatment for free (£200, instead of £240).
After the initial 6-week treatment plan, its advisable to return for monthly top-up treatments, which will help you to keep the uplifted look and inspire you to add in a few simple facial yoga exercises each day. (Yes, we all forget so easily about these exercises … we just like to remind you every now and again just how great the exercises can be for your mind, body and soul – as well as your cute face!).
So for a total of £600 per year, you can receive a unique and incredible whole-body workout and look naturally radiant with your full range of expressions intact.
What would YOU choose?
I am definitely up for saving £400 per year AND receive a total relaxation experience, needle- and chemical-free …

I follow my joy
Author: Callie

Following your joy can often seem an uphill struggle or one of those those things we dream about yet never seem to find the time to make a start on it …
The word “Joy”, the very pronunciation of it, makes me smile.
The very definition of Joy also makes me smile:
* the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires (delight)
* a state of happiness or felicity (bliss)
* a source or cause of delight
Since returning from my retreat in mid-July, I have been mindful about “following my joy”; knowing from personal experience just how important it is to your physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing that you try to follow a life – as far as practically possible – which makes your heart sing. If, like me, most of yours career choice have been based around the fear of “lack” (self-esteem and finances to name but two) and you feel as if joy is perhaps not as prevalent and immediate in your life as you would wish, maybe it is time to explore what joy means to you and how you can make room for it in your life.
I came across a fascinating article last week: “30 ways to create joy in your life“. I loved the suggestions made and would love to share them with you …
You can create the life you want by focusing on three simple ideas: joy, mindfulness, and connection. Your heart is warmed by joy, your mind is quieted by mindfulness, and your arms outstretched to connect. How will you warm your heart with joy today? Here are 30 suggestions:
Grow joyful through obstinacy (I will be joyful!).
Grow joyful by embracing joy.
Grow joyful by dreaming again.
Grow joyful by opening to wonder.
Grow joyful through laughter.
Grow joyful by opening to mystery.
Grow joyful through surrender.
Grow joyful through accomplishment.
Grow joyful through intimacy.
Grow joyful by breaking free.
Grow joyful by exploring.
Grow joyful by playing.
Grow joyful in conversation.
Grow joyful with the new day.
Grow joyful with friends.
Grow joyful through forgetfulness.
Grow joyful among children.
Grow joyful by relaxing.
Grow joyful by singing.
Grow joyful by indulging in small pleasures.
Grow joyful by opening to fascination.
Grow joyful by giving thanks.
Grow joyful by creating.
Grow joyful by living your principles.
Grow joyful through renewed hope.
Grow joyful by manifesting your loving nature.
Grow joyful in nature.
Grow joyful by embracing life.
Grow joyful this very day.
Which of these suggestions resonate with you? I’d love to hear which ones you feel most strongly drawn to and how you may be able to incorporate fun ways to elevate joy into your life.
I was particularly drawn to these three ways: Grow joyful by living your principles; Grow joyful through renewed hope; Grow joyful by manifesting your loving nature. These dovetail beautifully with my own personal journey at this moment in time and each day I consciously take steps towards making my life more joyful ~ taking one small step each day is a real achievement.
By following our joy, we will also find that the Universe will be attracted to our joyful state and brings us gifts of untold rewards – the trick, as always, is to recognise each reward as it comes to you.
For me, following my joy means I need to step up and take the challenge; breathe life into each new opportunity that comes my way and I am sure, very sure, that some wonderful changes will be weaving their way towards all of us in the next few months as we live our lives filled with joy, with grace and at harmony with our self.
Remember … let me know what steps you take to follow your joy!
Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls.
